Apply a thin layer of Soothing
Salve to affected areas to
soothe and heal dry and/or moist irritated skin.
Use as a barrier cream to protect tender areas and to aid in the
prevention of wound formation. Use anywhere body friction causes
chafing or blistering. If you are overweight with overlapping folds
of skin, apply to affected area and/or between the legs twice daily
as needed. The herbs in Soothing
Salve create a synergistic action that assures Ingredients: Unique blend of certified Organic: Oak Bark, Lobelia, Comfrey, Marshmallow Root, Mullein Leaf, Skullcap, Black Walnut, Aloe and Calendula in a base of cold pressed certified Organic Olive Oil, High Desert Beeswax, (Tea Tree Oil) and Vegetable stearic acid. Oak Bark has antiseptic and astringent properties. It has often been used to disinfect wounds and sores. The astringent or tightening property of oak bark helps reduce the swelling which occurs whenever there has been trauma to the tissues. Lobelia has often been used as part of herbal combinations as a catalyst to make the actions of the other herbs stronger and more effective. It is said "to lead other herbs to where they are needed and help them act together as a group". Comfrey Root and Leaves contain .8 to 1.0% allantoin, a substance which is known to encourage the proliferation of cells. Allantoin is also a natural part of the fetal development process and is found in breast milk, where it helps the baby to grow. the presence of allantoin along with good quantities of calcium, B-12, and protein building substances gives Comfrey a profound ability to rebuild tissues. Marshmallow Root is used in many different cultures for its emollient, coating, and soothing qualities. It is one of the best herbs for preventing and healing gangrene. Because of these qualities, it is often called "Mortification Root". Mullein Leaves are natural pain killers. the contain a glycoside called Verbascose which has strong antiseptic and healing effects when applies externally. Skullcap Leaves have been used to calm and repair the nervous system. They contains silicon, which is found in connective tissues, including those in the nervous system. Silicon is very important in the healing process, enabling the tissues to throw off accumulated pus. Black Walnut Leaves are a source of natural iodine. It has antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti- parasitic properties. Black Walnut Leaves help protect damaged tissues from infections while they are vulnerable (such as in the case of bed sore and diaper rash). Aloe Vera extracts have antibacterial and anti fungal activities. It is naturally soothing, and is used on burns and other traumas to the skin. Calendula in suspension or in tincture is used topically to treat acne, reducing inflammation, controlling bleeding and soothing irritated tissue. Organic Cold Pressed Olive Oil contains vitamin F (unsaturated fatty acids) which helps regenerate the skin and also combines with protein and cholesterol to form living membranes which hold the body's cells together.
